Job Title: Houseperson (Part-Time)

Join our team at Fairmont Château Laurier, a renowned hotel in the heart of Ottawa, as a Houseperson (Part-Time). As a key member of our Housekeeping team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort in our rooms and public areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional and friendly service to guests, responding promptly to their needs and requests.
  • Assist Room Attendants in preparing guest rooms efficiently and effectively.
  • Respond to guests' special requests for miscellaneous items, such as cribs, cots, extra towels, etc.
  • Clean and maintain assigned areas, including sanitizing, dusting, and vacuuming, as well as replenishing rooms with supplies.
  • Collect dirty linen, garbage, and recyclables from Room Attendants' carts and closets.
  • Maintain inventory in Housekeeping closets and report necessary maintenance items.
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues across departments to create a seamless guest experience.
Requirements:
  • Warm and caring personality, with previous housekeeping experience an asset.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent guest service skills and ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
Physical Aspects of the Position:
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
