Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Equipment Specialist to join our team at EssilorLuxottica Group. As a key member of our technical support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to our clients across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Installation and Repair: Install and repair optical equipment at client sites, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of technical issues.
  • Technical Support: Provide telephone and on-site technical support to clients, technicians, and sales representatives, identifying problems and providing effective solutions.
  • Training and Education: Train clients on the proper use of optical equipment, ensuring they are equipped to get the most out of their investment.
  • Spare Parts Management: Identify and manage spare parts required for equipment repair, verifying and labeling standard exchange spare parts for return to the head office.
  • Workshop and Field Service Management: Manage and plan workshop and field service calls, working closely with sales representatives to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Register all cases as work order cases, report travel schedules, and update the database after each service call, producing a weekly report of repairs and trips made.
  • Demonstrations and Follow-ups: Prepare equipment for demonstrations at client sites and optical shows, and conduct periodic follow-ups with existing clients to ensure their satisfaction with our services.
Requirements
  • Education: College degree in Electromechanical or related field, with optical knowledge an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical services, with a strong background in equipment installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Demands: Valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 35 kg (75 pounds), and flexibility to work varied hours, including overnight stays.
