Role Summary

What is the opportunity?

The Strategy Enablement team plays a pivotal role in advancing the T&O 2027 strategy through a diverse array of programs and initiatives, including Workforce & Location Strategy, Innovation Hubs, Academic & Technology Ecosystem Partnerships, and Technology Enablement. As the Senior Manager for the Vancouver Innovation Hub, you will contribute to the strategic vision of the Innovation Hub, fostering the growth and development of T&O talent within our Vancouver location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, aligning T&O to achieve business-focused outcomes. We empower individuals, drive strategic ambitions, and promote operational excellence.
  • Support all facets of the Innovation Hub's expansion and implement T&O's Workforce and Location strategy.
  • Assist in establishing direction and support T&O teams in executing their Hub strategy.
  • Collaborate with Hub leaders and Real Estate to create an optimal work environment and ensure sufficient seating to accommodate current and future needs.
  • Act as a liaison for Regional Leaders and Strategy Enablement to promote strong employee engagement and effective communication.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders in the local market, including government, academic, and tech ecosystem partners, and work collaboratively with other RBC partners to engage with these stakeholders.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with senior managers and stakeholders within the Innovation Hub.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing talent acquisition, employee engagement, and retention, while promoting the RBC brand in the local marketplace.
  • Increase brand visibility in local markets to drive engagement initiatives that position RBC as a premier tech employer.
  • Foster innovation by identifying and analyzing market trends and regional insights.
  • Drive transformation by challenging the status quo and generating innovative ideas.
  • Clearly articulate the transformation journey ahead; identify roadmaps, opportunities, new methodologies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support business case development for leaders and teams exploring alternative locations.
  • Establish and chair working groups across the Hub and the enterprise to deliver business value.
  • Facilitate team onboarding and expansion by streamlining processes, developing and refining templates, and engaging with key Hub partners as necessary.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs related to regional talent, innovation hubs, events, and sponsorships.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • University degree or college diploma.
  • Strong business communication skills, coupled with effective storyboarding and presentation abilities.
  • Experience in financial analysis, business case preparation, and project management.
  • Strategic thinking with a solid understanding of financial and business principles.
  • Proficient relationship management and project management skills.
  • Ability to consistently meet high-quality standards while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a commitment to excellence.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Word, and Excel.

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing external partnerships and stakeholder relationships with academic, community, and government entities.
  • Technologically savvy.
  • Background in financial services.
