About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Developmental Service Worker to join our team at Community Living Trent Highlands. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Care: Provide individualized support and care to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Assist with Daily Living: Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Community Involvement: Encourage and support individuals to participate in community activities, such as volunteering, education, and leisure activities.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other team members to ensure seamless support and care.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual support plans, progress, and any concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset.
  • Certifications: Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: Efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, client focus, flexibility, initiative, and a team player attitude.
Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Group home and various locations.
  • Transportation: Own transportation and a valid driver's license.
