Position Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral member of the Specialized Care Unit, focusing on mental health and addiction services. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive nursing care that aligns with the clinic's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient and family-centered care in accordance with the mission and values of the organization.
- Engage in case coordination, providing transition support and facilitating care through various communication methods.
- Conduct thorough assessments and interventions, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Foster collaborative relationships with family physicians and other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.
- Participate in educational initiatives and capacity-building efforts within the healthcare community.
Work Schedule: The RN will work 7.5-hour shifts, primarily from Monday to Friday, with some evening shifts required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is mandatory; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body.
- A minimum of two years of experience in mental health nursing, particularly with children and youth, is essential.
- Preferred qualifications include CNA Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing and completion of relevant specialized training programs.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are crucial.
- Commitment to family-centered care and evidence-informed practice is necessary.
