We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our mental health team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to adults with mental illness and other co-occurring disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the assessment, development, and implementation of care plans in collaboration with the Residential & Recovery Team Leader (nurse) or designate.
- Use a Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) approach to deliver client-centered care and promote recovery.
- Work effectively with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest standards of practice and organizational policies and procedures.
- Engage with patients and families as full collaborators in service planning, delivery, and evaluation.
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
- Completion of a Pharmacology course, Head to Toe Assessment, Taking and Transcribing Doctor's Orders, IV Therapy, and other relevant courses.
- Knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation practice, psychiatric medication, and side effects.
- Class V BC Drivers License and use of own vehicle for travel.
- Certificates in CPR and First Aid.
- Three years recent experience working in the mental health field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
