Collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management teams is essential to meet proposal deadlines while managing various internal priorities. Support Sales initiatives through direct interactions with consulting engineers and clients when necessary.
Job Responsibilities:Key Functions:
- Collaborate with Finning Sales to develop innovative, cost-efficient technical solutions for projects within specified timelines.
- Assess mechanical and electrical system operations and explore technical solutions for application challenges.
- Generate reports with recommendations for cost-effective solutions addressing operational deficiencies.
- Evaluate suppliers and their offerings, fostering strong relationships with key partners.
- Engage with customers during Sales interactions to showcase Finning's expertise and promote unique solutions.
- Create project operating philosophies and detailed project scope documents.
- Coordinate with Project Management and Engineering to ensure smooth project transitions.
- Review insights from completed projects to enhance the estimating process for future endeavors.
- Examine CAT Application Engineering guidelines and integrate them into proposals.
- Develop project-specific engineering drawings.
Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of Mechanical & Electrical Electric Power Generation (EPG) technologies.
- Familiarity with Finning's processes and policies.
- Insight into the power systems business and customer drivers.
- Evaluation of cost options for complex technical solutions.
- Proficiency in engineering software, particularly Autocad 2D.
- Preparation of mechanical and/or electrical estimates for client contracts.
- Ensure commercial estimates include established, tracked, and met delivery dates.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3 to 4 years of experience in EPG applications.
- Professional Engineer registration in BC or Alberta, or willingness to obtain PENG registration.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A collaborative team player capable of engaging with diverse groups.
- Robust technical skills.
- Must hold a valid professional engineering license.
