Product Design Director

Electronic Arts is seeking a highly skilled Product Design Director to lead our design team in creating exceptional gaming experiences. As a key member of our leadership group, you will be responsible for setting the high-level design vision for our products and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring it to life.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our players' needs and preferences to inform design decisions.
  • Lead the design team in creating high-quality, player-centric experiences that meet business goals and technical constraints.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to ensure seamless integration of design and development.
  • Mentor and guide designers to help them grow in their roles and contribute to the team's success.
  • Provide regular feedback and guidance to the development team to ensure design intent is met.
  • Drive the iterative design process to ensure the highest quality designs.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Product Design to align on design strategy and direction.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing your work on web platforms, apps, or related digital products.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Expert knowledge of design and prototyping tools like Figma or others.
  • General awareness of web and mobile technology (i.e., JavaScript, HTML/CSS).
  • Collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
  • Experience with design systems, demonstrating the ability to create design patterns and guidelines.
  • Passion for gaming and a interest in exploring innovative design approaches within the gaming industry.
  • Experience in Multi Platform Interface Design such as: Gaming consoles, Web ecosystems, VR & AR and Native IOS and Android apps.
  • Can set clear assignments and actionable feedback for the design team.
  • Can sell the design vision both internally and externally.
  • Experience mentoring designers of all experience levels.
  • You value tackling complex design challenges, analyzing user pain points, and crafting effective solutions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • You thrive in a team environment and actively contribute to discussions, valuing diverse perspectives.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. BASE SALARY RANGES
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): o $115,100 - $161,200 CAN Annually Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
