Product Design Director

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Design Director to join our team at Braze. As a key member of our design leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our product design team and driving the development of our product design strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of product designers, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow and develop in their careers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and research, to develop and implement product design strategies.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers' needs and preferences, and use this knowledge to inform design decisions.
- Work closely with our product management team to develop and prioritize product features and requirements.
- Conduct user research and analysis to inform design decisions and ensure that our products meet the needs of our customers.
- Develop and maintain a design system and ensure that it is consistently applied across our products.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in product design and apply this knowledge to improve our design processes and outcomes.
- Collaborate with our engineering team to ensure that design requirements are met and that our products are delivered on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain a culture of design excellence within our organization, and ensure that design is a key consideration in all aspects of our business.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong background in leading and managing design teams.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful product design strategies.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform design decisions.
- Experience with design tools and technologies, including Sketch, Figma, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Strong understanding of design systems and their application in product design.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and their application in product design.
