Mill Operations Manager

Job Summary:

Thoar Mining Management Ltd is seeking an experienced Mill Supervisor to support the continuous planning, maintenance, and operations of our mine site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning activities, preparing work packages, and promoting new labour resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Plan Activities: Work with other departments to ensure effective communication and alignment, and prepare work packages to execute schedule-driven projects.
  • Promote and Manage Labour Resources: Provide policies and procedure awareness training, and oversee new labour resources coming onto site.
  • Facilitate Communication: Ensure proper and efficient contract operation, allocation of resources, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and mitigate risks, conduct safety audits, and general maintenance inspections.
  • Plan and Coordinate Jobs: Manage inventory levels, communicate with suppliers, and source parts as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot Operational Problems: Work with operations to identify and resolve issues, and participate in preventative planning and execution.
  • Oversee Asset Management: Coordinate and plan work to ensure alignment with safe work practices.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification from the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship & Trade Certification, or Mechanical Technologist Diploma, with 5+ years of experience in maintenance and production in the industrial/mining industry.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of mill/mine processes, and experience with pumps, belt systems, crushing and milling circuits, and infrastructure.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, time and attendance systems, and maintenance monitoring and management systems SAP.
