About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the Mill Operations Department, ensuring that safety and production standards are met with excellence.
Position Summary: The Superintendent of Mill Operations will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the effective management of all operational aspects within the Seabee Mill Operations. This role is crucial in maintaining high safety standards and achieving production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of safety and health for all personnel engaged with the Mill Operations.
- Drive the team towards achieving operational targets aligned with corporate goals.
- Ensure all crew members receive necessary training and comply with operational standards.
- Develop and maintain operational systems that align with maintenance and project goals.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence and the adoption of best practices.
- Identify and implement technological advancements for continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Manage the Mill Operations budget effectively.
- Collaborate with department leaders to meet operational objectives.
- Oversee the refining and transportation of gold bars safely.
- Provide accurate reporting to stakeholders regarding mill operations.
- Maintain exemplary housekeeping standards in all areas of Mill Operations.
- Handle all aspects of personnel recruitment, development, and performance management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong commitment to safety protocols.
- Proven leadership, management, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of gold recovery processes and equipment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in a milling operations setting.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role.
- A recognized post-secondary degree in Engineering is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
This role operates on a schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off, requiring travel to a remote camp.
