About Us
With over five decades of experience in the nuclear sector, Aecon has established a reputation for reliability, safety, and performance, making us a preferred contractor. We provide an extensive range of expertise and capabilities to deliver integrated solutions for various nuclear challenges, from plant modifications to long-term maintenance contracts, design-build ISFSI, reactor overhauls, and large component replacements for plant life extension.

The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Continuous Improvement (CI) team and the organization as a whole. Under the guidance of the CI Director or Manager, this position is responsible for executing assigned improvement initiatives and supporting the implementation of Aecon's CI program elements (Lean Construction tools and best practices) to enable our operations teams to achieve consistent, outstanding, and continually improving results in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall: assist as needed in coordinating and managing projects related to core CI deliverables and improvement initiatives driven by the Continuous Improvement team.
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned initiatives.
- Maintain and manage schedules and action tracking for all deliverables related to Continuous Improvement core deliverables and initiatives.
- Facilitate and lead key stakeholder meetings concerning major initiatives.
- Prepare and manage communications related to the promotion, development, and implementation of CI deliverables and assigned initiatives.
- Create, maintain, and deliver presentations and training for CI deliverables and initiatives.
- Support analysis and evaluation activities on incoming proposals for improvement initiatives from various sources.
- Prepare supporting documents for assigned initiatives.
- Coordinate activities across assigned projects and cross-sector stakeholders related to project-level and sector-wide improvements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of key CI deliverables from the CI project/sector implementation plan.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering or a technical college diploma, and/or business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field, including project execution and general coordination.
- 1-3 years of Project Management/Coordination experience (preferred).
- Ability to effectively coordinate a construction project and/or related support initiatives.
- Knowledge of construction elements such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
- High proficiency in standard computer applications.
- Experience in preparing and delivering project reports, both written and verbally, including presentations to various stakeholders.
