Role Overview
The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Continuous Improvement (CI) team and the broader organization. Reporting to the CI Director or Manager, this position is tasked with executing designated improvement initiatives and supporting the implementation of Aecon's CI program elements, utilizing Lean Construction tools and best practices to help our operations teams achieve consistent and outstanding project execution results.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating and managing projects related to core CI deliverables and improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned initiatives.
- Manage schedules and track actions for all deliverables associated with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate and lead key stakeholder meetings for significant initiatives.
- Prepare and manage communications regarding the promotion and implementation of CI deliverables.
- Develop and deliver presentations and training materials for CI initiatives.
- Support analysis and evaluation of proposed improvement initiatives from various sources.
- Create supporting documentation for assigned initiatives.
- Coordinate activities across projects and stakeholders for project-level and sector-wide improvements.
- Assist in the development and execution of key CI deliverables.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering or a technical college diploma, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field, including project execution and coordination.
- Preferred experience in Project Management/Coordination.
- Ability to effectively coordinate construction projects and related initiatives.
- Knowledge of construction elements, including technology, methods, cost control, and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Proficiency in standard computer applications.
- Experience in preparing and delivering project reports and presentations.
