Role Overview
The Project Coordinator plays a crucial role within the Continuous Improvement (CI) team and the organization as a whole. Reporting to the CI Director or Manager, this position is tasked with executing assigned improvement initiatives and supporting the implementation of Aecon's CI program elements (Lean Construction tools and best practices) to help our operations teams achieve consistent, outstanding, and progressively better results in project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating and managing projects related to core CI deliverables and improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for assigned initiatives.
- Oversee and manage schedules and action tracking for all deliverables associated with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate and lead key stakeholder meetings concerning significant initiatives.
- Prepare and manage communications related to the promotion, development, and implementation of CI deliverables.
- Create, maintain, and deliver presentations and training materials for CI initiatives.
- Support analysis and evaluation of proposed improvement initiatives from various sources.
- Develop supporting documents for assigned initiatives.
- Coordinate activities across projects and stakeholders related to project-level and sector-wide improvements.
- Assist in the development and execution of key CI deliverables.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering or a technical college diploma, and/or business administration, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field, including project execution and coordination.
- Preferred experience in Project Management/Coordination.
- Ability to effectively coordinate construction projects and related support initiatives.
- Knowledge of construction elements, including technology, equipment, methods, and safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- High proficiency in standard computer applications.
- Experience in preparing and delivering project reports and presentations to various stakeholders.
