Casual Early Learning Assistant

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is a leading educational institution in Eastern Ontario, offering a diverse range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community.

We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed educational professionals to join our team as Casual Early Learning Assistants.

Role and Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Early Childhood Educator, the Casual Early Learning Assistant will assist in the provision of childcare to students before and after school, including professional activity days and school break periods.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Enhancing child-based play and encouraging and guiding appropriate behavior techniques
  • Modeling behavior and performing other duties to support the overall objectives and goals of the program
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • A High School diploma and a minimum of one year of post-secondary experience providing childcare to school-age children in a group setting
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
  • Current First Aid certification/CPR Level C and a valid Police Record Check for the Vulnerable sector
