Job Title: Early Childhood Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Childhood Assistant to join our team at Charlotte Birchard Centres of Early Learning. As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our care.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Assistant will work under the supervision of early childhood educators to develop and implement child-care programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment, engaging children in activities, and assisting with daily routines.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children
  • Engage children in activities that promote learning and development
  • Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation and cleanup
  • Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs and activities
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and report to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Requirements:
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Flexibility and adaptability
Working Conditions:

The Early Childhood Assistant will work in a child-care centre environment, which may include outdoor activities and exposure to noise. The successful candidate must be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to lift and move equipment as needed.
