Geriatric Nursing Supervisor

About the Role:
Ocean View is seeking a skilled and experienced Nursing Unit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for the organization and management of the nursing unit, ensuring that our high standards for quality care are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the nursing unit to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Ocean View's standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and patient outcomes.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree or Nursing Administration Course (preferred).
- Three (3) years geriatric nursing experience.
- Demonstrated administrative experience and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a contributing team member.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing process, nursing diagnosis, excellent clinical assessment skills, and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated supervisory and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to work a 24-hour shift rotation on any nursing unit.
- Knowledge and experience in Venipuncture (preferred).
- Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.

Salary Range: In accordance with the Collective Agreement between Ocean View Manor and Ocean View Manor Local of the Nova Scotia Nurse's Union.
Rotation: Days/Evenings/Nights: All Shift Hours
