Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team of metal fabrication professionals in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. As a Metal Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components and structures to meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with and take part in all UpSourced HR health and safety program requirements.
  • Comply with all Provincial Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Comply with all Prime Contractor Health and Safety requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Journeypersons shall possess an Alberta Welding Certificate or Inter-Provincial red seal.
  • Apprentices shall possess the education level (High School Diploma) as mandated by regulatory authorities.
  • Pass CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) welding tests.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
  • Work to close tolerances.
  • Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal components using processes such as:
    • SMAW – Shielded metal arc welding
    • GTAW - Gas tungsten arc welding
    • GMAW – Gas metal arc welding
    • FCAW – Flux core arc welding
  • Knowledge of metals, relevant product codes, regulations, and laws.
  • Knowledge of applied mathematics (i.e., fractions, measuring and geometry).
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • Determine welding procedures to minimize distortion.
  • Operate trade-related equipment.
Requirements
  • Safety Conscious

  • Previous fabrication experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel (preferred but not necessary)
  • Experience with metal forming equipment such as Brake, Shear, and Plate Rollers
  • Ability to Read and interpret Blueprints
