Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our team of metal fabrication professionals in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. As a Metal Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, equipment, and structures to meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with and take part in all UpSourced HR health and safety program requirements.
- Comply with all Provincial Health and Safety Regulations.
- Comply with all Prime Contractor Health and Safety requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Journeypersons shall possess an Alberta Welding Certificate or Inter-Provincial red seal.
- Apprentices shall possess the education level (High School Diploma) as mandated by regulatory authorities.
- Pass CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) welding tests.
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
- Work to close tolerances.
- Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal components using processes such as:
- SMAW – Shielded metal arc welding
- GTAW - Gas tungsten arc welding
- GMAW – Gas metal arc welding
- FCAW – Flux core arc welding
- Knowledge of metals, relevant product codes, regulations, and laws.
- Knowledge of applied mathematics (i.e., fractions, measuring and geometry).
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
- Determine welding procedures to minimize distortion.
- Operate trade-related equipment.
- Safety Conscious
- Passionate for custom, high-quality metal components, equipment, and structures
- Previous fabrication experience with stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel (preferred but not necessary)
- Experience with metal forming equipment such as Brake, Shear, and Plate Rollers
- Ability to Read and interpret Blueprints
- Fine attention to detail
