Role Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Dean of University Libraries and Archives, the Associate Dean (Academic) will be instrumental in shaping and executing liaison initiatives, user services, research support, and collection strategies. This role involves providing leadership to improve user-centric services and experiences, contributing to the library's financial planning, strategic objectives, and collection enhancement. Establishing connections with external entities and stakeholders is also a vital component of this position.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Formulating priorities and action plans that align with the library's strategic vision
  • Leading the improvement of user-centered services to support institutional objectives
  • Addressing challenges and conflicts, promoting ongoing enhancement, and responding to user insights

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:
  • A Master's degree in information/library science from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent

  • Expertise in public service delivery, collection management, or educational and research support
  • Awareness of trends in library services, emerging technologies, and academic collaborations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
