Claims Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join AXIS Capital, a leading global provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance. As a Claim Specialist, you will play a critical role in our Canada Claims team, providing specialized technical claim handling for primary and excess liability claims under our D&O, E&O, EPL, Crime, Cyber, and Media policies.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse liability and damages issues in connection with primary and excess claims, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Analyse insurance coverage issues, draft coverage letters, and communicate positions to insureds and brokers.
- Manage external adjusters and counsel, collaborating with Insureds in the defence and resolution of claims.
- Settlement negotiation and evaluation of full pending of claims in connection with the posting and maintaining of accurate reserves.
- Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, risk managers, general counsels, and vendors.
- Provide data and analytic-based informational support to underwriters.
- Provide support to underwriters with respect to marketing efforts, policy wording, and trending discussions.
- Ensure prompt payment of losses and vendor invoices.
We are seeking a talented and dynamic claim professional with previous experience handling claims, litigation, or related experience in a legal or multiline insurance environment. You should have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a great attention to detail and an open mind. A Bachelor's degree and Law degree or CIP designation are preferred, but not required.
