About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at THE TEA CO. LIMITED. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of 3-4 staff members who prepare and portion food.
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
    • Establish work schedules and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities.
    • Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings.
  • Team Development
    • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate or diploma required.
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Work Environment
    • Specialty shop environment.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent oral communication skills.
    • Efficient interpersonal skills.
    • Team player with a strong work ethic.
    • Reliability and a commitment to quality.
