We are seeking a proactive Field Service Engineer to enhance our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Field Customer Service Manager, this role is essential for delivering technical assistance for Vishay products through various services, including installation and commissioning, preparation for pre-shipping factory acceptance testing, adherence to scheduled service timelines, and conducting product training for clients.
- Ensure readiness for commissioning by utilizing the SPS, site progress summaries, and maintaining regular communication with customers.
- Oversee installation activities on-site, including cold and hot commissioning, performance evaluations, customer training, weekly reporting, and completion of necessary documentation.
- Follow up on post-commissioning action items, update system configuration files, facilitate in-house commissioning review meetings, and gather customer feedback.
- Assist the Project Coordinator with pre-shipping tasks such as system testing, factory acceptance evaluations, and customer training.
- Conduct testing for new software releases.
- Update technical documentation, including drawings, parts lists, manuals, and training materials.
- Design maintenance activities and create Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Engage in projects related to new product development.
- Provide support to the project team as necessary.
- Offer technical assistance to the Sales team regarding product applications.
- Collaborate with the Production department to provide technical support.
- Validate new product versions.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution or a diploma in a relevant technology field with appropriate experience is required.
- Professional Engineer (PEng), Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.), or a similar designation is preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience with control, automation, and electromechanical systems in industrial, automotive, or aerospace sectors is preferred, although other industries will be considered.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude is essential.
- Proficient in using electrical, mechanical, computer, and networking tools, including digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as electrical schematics, mechanical layouts, and network diagrams.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks is advantageous.
- Experience with PLCs and automation systems, both in use and design.
- Comprehensive understanding of industrial safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- A strong sense of professionalism and diplomacy, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
