Position Summary:

We are in search of a proficient and driven Systems Administrator with expertise in virtualization and storage solutions to enhance our IT Team. The ideal candidate will take charge of the design, implementation, and upkeep of our virtualization and storage frameworks. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of virtual infrastructures and storage systems to guarantee optimal performance, availability, and security of our IT assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and oversee virtual environments utilizing technologies such as VMware, Azure Stack, and KVM.
  • Assess and enhance the performance of virtual machines (VMs) alongside the underlying hardware.
  • Collaborate with the Backup team to formulate and uphold disaster recovery and business continuity strategies that align with the necessary RTOs and RPOs for virtual environments.
  • Design, execute, and manage storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and DAS.
  • Supervise storage systems to ensure peak performance and availability.
  • Establish suitable security and high availability configurations to maintain data confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility.
  • Oversee data backup, recovery, and replication processes.
  • Conduct regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues pertaining to virtualization and storage frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the virtualization and storage infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and implement automation scripts to enhance system efficiency and minimize manual interventions.
  • Engage in capacity planning and scaling to accommodate the organization's expanding needs.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning and optimization of virtualization and storage systems.
  • Work in conjunction with other IT teams to support enterprise applications and services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator with a concentration on virtualization and storage.
  • Practical experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage platforms.
  • Strong grasp of network protocols, firewalls, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or CompTIA Storage+ are advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience managing Windows and Linux servers.
  • Extensive experience in designing High Availability systems to fulfill disaster recovery and business continuity objectives.

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $110,000 annually, based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
