THE ROLE
In the capacity of Head of Engineering Operations, you will be responsible for supervising the outputs and procedural workflows of our teams, emphasizing ongoing enhancement. Your responsibilities will include proposing improvements to tools, methodologies, systems, and processes to maximize engineering value and enhance efficiencies within the Engineering Operations.
Additional duties involve ensuring that our Engineering Teams are sufficiently staffed to address current and future business needs, particularly concerning new subscription services. Furthermore, collaboration with Product Management and Development teams to support forthcoming Product Roadmaps will be a vital aspect of your role as Head of Engineering Operations.
In this position, you will be instrumental in developing, guiding, mentoring, and providing growth opportunities for our managers and senior managers within the Engineering Teams. Your support will enable them to assume other strategic roles within the organization as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise, assess, and continuously enhance Engineering Teams' outputs and procedural workflows, ensuring the optimization of engineering resources and achievement of delivery objectives. This includes monitoring capacity levels, evaluating cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring adequate staffing for new product launches or enhancements. Maximize the value of engineering by establishing, developing, maintaining, and perpetually improving processes, systems, and tools. This involves gathering and comprehending process and tool requirements, making recommendations for efficiency enhancements, and ensuring delivery targets are met through historical analysis and forecasting. Collaborate with Product Management and Development teams to facilitate future Product Roadmap discussions, representing the interests of the Engineering Teams and aiding in the development of new subscription services. This includes working with Business Operations and Planning to allocate resources and develop additional production/optimization metrics for subscription-based offerings. Build, lead, and manage engineering unit leaders (managers, senior managers) by communicating strategic objectives, providing clear direction, setting professional development goals, and empowering team members to be proactive and self-sufficient. This also involves motivating, guiding, and mentoring team members, as well as developing succession plans in anticipation of retirements or departures. QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a comparable role within a technology-driven organization. Experience in the Semiconductor sector is considered a significant advantage. Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a proven track record in optimizing engineering processes and workflows. Capability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments, with experience in managing and mentoring engineering unit leaders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to assess cost-saving opportunities and forecast delivery objectives. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
