POSITION OVERVIEW

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is seeking applications for a sessional lecturer role at our Williams Lake campus, situated in the picturesque Cariboo region. This position focuses on FNLG First Nations Language Structure & Analysis, specifically Tsilhqot'in.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will contribute to the academic environment by delivering high-quality instruction in Tsilhqot'in language structure. This role involves:

  • Developing and implementing course materials that align with the curriculum.
  • Facilitating engaging classroom discussions and activities.
  • Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff to enhance the learning experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Tsilhqot'in language educator.
  • Advanced proficiency in Tsilhqot'in, encompassing comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • A Master's Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in post-secondary teaching is preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
