Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is seeking a qualified individual for a sessional lecturer role focusing on FNLG 2000, which covers the structure and analysis of the Tsilhqot'in language.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures and facilitating discussions that enhance students' understanding of the Tsilhqot'in language. This position is integral to fostering a rich learning environment that respects and incorporates traditional knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONSIn alignment with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action, TRU values the contributions of Elders and traditional knowledge keepers. Candidates should possess:
- Proven experience in teaching the Tsilhqot'in language
- Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension of Tsilhqot'in
- A Master's Degree or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Preferred prior experience in post-secondary education
- Strong oral and written communication abilities
