Job Description

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to fill the role of Communications Officer. This is a permanent full-time position that reports directly to the Coordinator of the Communications Section.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy and plans to promote the KRG's mission and objectives.
  • Liaise with the media to ensure effective communication and representation of the KRG's interests.
  • Coordinate the KRG's external and internal communications, including the development and implementation of communications plans for programs and departments.
  • Design and implement a branding and communications strategy that reflects the KRG's values and mission.
  • Draft briefing notes, speeches, and media documents to support the KRG's communications efforts.
  • Plan and execute public relations projects in collaboration with the KRG's departments.
  • Provide support to the Director and Coordinator as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in public relations.
  • Solid leadership skills and demonstrated resourcefulness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, and French.
Benefits
  • Cost of living differential: $8,500 annually (minimum).
  • Food allowance: $3,707 annually (minimum).
  • Annual leave trips: Maximum 3 trips per year, per person.
  • Pension fund: 6% employer contribution and 4% employee contribution.
  • Group insurance.
  • Vacation: 20 days/year.
  • Statutory holidays: 20 days, including 10 during Christmas.
