Dawson Road Maintenance is seeking a skilled Seasonal Operator to join our team. As a valued member of our crew, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our roadways during the winter months.

In this temporary, full-time position, you will be responsible for navigating frozen roads, clearing snow and ice, and working collaboratively with our team to meet company production objectives. We are currently hiring in 100 Mile House, Ashcroft, Clinton, Gold Bridge, Bridge Lake, and Lillooet, B.C.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize the safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
  • Work collaboratively with team members to successfully complete tasks
  • Operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions, on public roadways in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Follow direction of the Supervisor regarding daily production schedule and activities
  • Maintain a daily activity of work in progress and status of completion
  • Maintain proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment
  • Complete all work reports and maintenance logs

Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years of road maintenance and/or construction experience
  • Valid Class 1 preferred, or 3 Drivers license is required
  • Two (2) years commercial driving experience is an asset
  • Experience in snow removal is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements
  • Heavy Equipment Operating Certificate an asset
  • Able to manage electronic reporting using tablets
  • Minor equipment maintenance
