Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Brandt is actively looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Value Parts division. The ideal candidate will take on the critical role of disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, and reassembling heavy machinery components within our Rebuild facility. The components handled will encompass a variety of systems, including but not limited to axles, final drives, pumps, transmissions, engines, hydraulic motors, hydraulic cylinders, and other planetary drives. Additionally, this role involves the dismantling of heavy machinery used in construction, forestry, and mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the operational condition of heavy-duty equipment components, diagnose issues, and carry out assembly/disassembly tasks efficiently.
  • Utilize secondary materials and equipment with safety and efficiency.
  • Employ various instruments, hand tools, power tools, and computer systems in the repair process.
  • Continuously evaluate service task hazards to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Document maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics using computer applications and information systems.
  • Reference parts catalogs to identify and order necessary components.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Forklift operation experience and handling of heavy-duty parts is advantageous.

  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Journeyperson in the heavy-duty equipment technician trade or an equivalent designation is preferred.
  • Prior mechanical experience in a heavy equipment setting is considered an asset.
  • Dedication to customer service and service excellence.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service.
