Surfacing Lead – Real-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Surfacing Lead to oversee our surfacing team and drive the development of high-quality textures and shaders in Unreal Engine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent workflow and adherence to pipeline processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to implement feedback and pipeline changes
• Develop and maintain efficient UV layouts and texture maps
• Create and implement shaders for the surfacing team to utilize in production
• Work closely with the production designer and art director to achieve desired surface look and feel for characters, props, and environments
• Maintain internal documentation of workflows and processes
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in fine arts or animation or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in feature film, commercial, and/or video game production
• Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Maya and Unreal Engine, or other render packages
• Strong artistic eye for detail and ability to match different art references
• Familiarity with polygonal surfacing and UV layout
• Experience in Substance Painter or similar 3D painting package
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
