POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis serves as a vital business ally to the Motor Coach Industries and New Flyer divisions, focusing on enhancing profitability and achieving financial objectives. This role encompasses the oversight of annual operating plans and the management of essential cash functions. Responsibilities include the formulation of annual budgets and the supervision of forecasting, reporting, and monitoring activities. The Senior Director will collaborate with various stakeholders to foster financial literacy and maintain robust controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage cash invoicing and collection procedures, including weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Lead the development of the annual budget and operating plan.
- Generate monthly financial forecasts.
- Compile monthly reporting packages for internal stakeholders and the NFI Group.
- Deliver insightful analysis on overhead, SG&A, and production costs, while identifying and executing cost-reduction strategies.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis on labor costs, including efficiency metrics and support for negotiations.
- Oversee the capital budgeting process and assist in the development of multi-year cost forecasts.
- Offer operational and financial guidance to the North American Bus and Coach management teams, ensuring timely responses to information requests.
- Support operational decision-making and evaluate financial proposals related to capital investments.
- Maintain financial controls in alignment with NFI's internal control framework.
- Assist with both internal and external audit processes.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
- A recognized accounting designation (CPA) is mandatory.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated success in driving financial performance in dynamic environments.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, fostering relationships with internal and external partners.
- Commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
- Familiarity with IFRS, Oracle, and internal control frameworks is advantageous.
Travel requirements may reach up to 10% for this position.
