Mental Health Specialist

Overview
Mackenzie Health is seeking multiple psychiatrists to join our team in various specialties, including inpatient, outpatient, geriatric, and child and adolescent psychiatry.
As a member of our team, you will work in consultation with the Chief of Psychiatry and other physicians to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess patients to diagnose mental health disorders and develop effective treatment plans.
• Manage patients throughout their hospital stay, ensuring seamless care transitions.
• Order diagnostic tests and treatments, collaborating with specialists as needed.
• Prescribe and administer medications to treat mental health and behavioral disorders.
• Provide on-call services and respond to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Prepare and submit case reports and summaries for Ministry of Health reporting criteria.
Requirements
• Medical degree (MD) and Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry.
• Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
• Completion of 2 years' training or experience in psychogeriatrics or credentialing by the Sub-Specialty Committee of the Royal College for the Geriatric position.
• Completion of 2 years' training or experience in child/adolescent psychiatry or credentialing by the Sub-Specialty Committee of the Royal College for the Child and Adolescent position.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in psychiatry.
