Laboratory Analyst

Position Overview

On-site | Full-time | Entry Level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the digestion and extraction processes for a variety of samples in accordance with established methods and protocols;
  • Conduct necessary sample preparations, including screening and homogenization, particularly for bio-hazardous materials;
  • Implement concentration, clean-up, submission, and derivatization procedures for all analyses;
  • Organize and manage work schedules and planning activities;
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation;
  • Oversee inventory management of supplies and consumables;
  • Support training initiatives;
  • Review and contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
  • Adhere to SOP requirements and comply with stringent Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards;
  • Utilize appropriate methods as per established procedures while ensuring analytical integrity;
  • Follow safety regulations and adhere to ALS health and safety policies.

Candidate Profile :

  • Proficient in English communication skills (auditory, verbal, written, and reading);
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer skills;
  • Strong data entry capabilities with a focus on accuracy and efficiency;
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision in a fast-paced setting;
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong work ethic and readiness to undertake various tasks as needed;
  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to comprehend and execute detailed instructions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or technical diploma in chemistry or a related scientific field;
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a fast-paced production or preparation environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity for intricate and repetitive tasks;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods;
  • Capability to lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and carry for short distances;
  • Willingness to work in environments with unpleasant odours;
  • Compliance with safety regulations regarding personal grooming for respirator use;
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends.
