The Opportunity:

This is an entry-level part-time position within the Fitness and Leisure department, offering a unique chance to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Child Care Leader, you will be responsible for providing high-quality child care services to children aged infant to 6 years, creating a safe and enjoyable environment that fosters learning and growth. Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and communication skills to families and children
  • Developing and implementing engaging activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient program
  • Maintaining a clean and healthy environment that meets the highest standards
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum age of 18 years
  • Current Standard First Aid – Level C CPR with AED certification
  • Exceptional customer service and people skills
  • Experience working with and caring for children
  • A genuine desire to work with children and make a positive impact on their lives
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information:

This is a part-time position with daytime shifts from 7:45 am – 1:30 pm, evening shifts between 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm, and weekend shifts from 7:45 am – 12:15 pm. Candidates with availability Monday – Friday mornings may be given priority. Successful candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and will be required to lift, bend, and kneel. Sitting on low chairs and the floor will be required for the majority of the shifts.
