Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Associate Vice-President Graduate Studies and Research. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team focused on advancing graduate studies, programs, and faculty and student research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion the growth and promotion of TRU's graduate programs
  • Enhance student research opportunities
  • Oversee all aspects of graduate administration
  • Grow TRU's research culture and reputation
  • Provide innovative leadership and administrative expertise within the Office of the Vice-President Research
Requirements
  • Earned doctorate
  • Track record of academic leadership in graduate studies
  • Record of research excellence
  • Appointable at the rank of Full Professor at TRU
Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep commitment to, and support of, excellence in research, programs, graduate administration, the graduate student community, strategic enrolment management, student and faculty relationships, and student supervision
  • Expertise and passion for the broad range of disciplines at TRU
  • Highly collegial and collaborative
  • Superb communications skills
  • Excellent networks (nationally and internationally)
  • Strong orientation to relationship building, both inside the university and externally
