Job Description

Job Title: Vice-Principal - Educational Leader

Job Summary:

School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is seeking an experienced and visionary educational leader to fill the role of Vice-Principal for Raft River Elementary, Vavenby, and Blue River. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Principal and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Principal and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Support the Principal in meeting all aspects of Board policy and district procedures.
  • Develop and implement goals to support engagement, learning, and success for all learners.
  • Articulate a process of decision making using an ethical framework based on the moral purpose and direction of the school.
  • Lead the learning and instructional leadership teams to establish a continuum of learning and engage in ongoing and targeted conversations regarding the progression of learning.

Requirements:

  • A Master of Education degree or near completion of such degree.
  • A valid BC Teaching Certificate.
  • A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience.
  • A proven record of successful educational leadership experiences.
  • The ability to travel between worksites.
  • The ability to communicate in French is an asset, not a prerequisite.
