Job Summary:

The Audiologist - Hearing Specialist will assess hearing functions, develop treatment plans, and ensure their implementation to improve or re-establish communication in the human environment. This role involves participating in clinical teaching and collaborating with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective treatment implementation.
  • Participate in clinical teaching and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and community members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and research findings to inform practice.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Audiology or a related field.
  • Membership in the Ordre des orthophonistes et audiologistes du Québec.
  • Two years of relevant experience in audiology or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of First Nation health/social service models, trends, and issues.
  • Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee.
  • Fluency in Cree and/or French is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Willingness to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Fluency in Cree and/or French is an asset.
