Position Summary

This role focuses on leading a team of engineers dedicated to designing, launching, and maintaining specific product categories within Masco Canada Limited.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to the engineering team to achieve shared objectives.
  • Mentor and evaluate the work of team members, offering constructive feedback and approvals.
  • Assign projects strategically and cultivate individual and team growth plans.
  • Adapt priorities to align with evolving business goals and targets.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop proactive action plans to mitigate them.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and comprehensive design verification reports.
  • Develop thorough testing requirements for product validation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and information.
  • Ensure the accuracy of bill of materials for all projects.
  • Take ownership of complex product engineering projects, driving them to successful completion.
  • Champion a safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth understanding of various manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience in product redesign and value engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Experience working with engineering change bulletins.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
