Position Overview

Role Responsibilities

The Transit Technology Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Transit Services department by proactively identifying opportunities for business enhancements and utilizing information technology to transform these opportunities into tangible outcomes.

This position is integral in helping Transit realize the benefits of technological investments while cultivating trustworthy relationships to navigate ongoing changes effectively.

Key Duties
  • Oversee the management of all Transit technology solutions, including procurement, implementation, and ongoing systems management.
  • Interpret, analyze, and document functional specifications, as well as business and system requirements, to understand the current and future states of the organization, providing a comprehensive gap analysis.
  • Manage all transit technology systems, including HASTUS scheduling software, CONSAT GPS/AVL, SEON camera system, and BEA/PIM farebox, ensuring their security, functionality, and modernization.
  • Plan, monitor, and control significant transit technology projects using established project management methodologies, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective solution delivery and resource management.
Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a systems development environment, including experience as a project manager leading complex technology initiatives.
  • Proficiency in database and software programming.
  • A valid "G" class Ontario driver's license.
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), or Change Management Certification.
  • Strong skills in MS Office, relational databases (Oracle, MS-SQL), and modern programming languages/tools.
  • Knowledge of current information technology trends, including web-based and cloud computing technologies.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence reporting.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
