This role is remote with a travel requirement of % and is open to applicants across Canada. This is an hourly compensated position. With travel, overtime, and additional earnings, resource technicians may have the potential to earn over $, USD annually.

Sales/SBU AME/Resource

The resource division operates within the broader operations department, providing technician support for service sites and construction initiatives. This department is tasked with supplying Vestas-trained and qualified technicians, as well as contractor personnel, as required by operational service and construction teams. This group plays a vital role in the company, as the successful execution of construction projects and service plans relies on the timely deployment of resources.

Key Responsibilities

Willingness to travel % of the time and work overtime, including adapting to a variable work schedule to achieve business objectives. Serve as a safety ambassador, promoting and recognizing safe practices among peers while intervening in unsafe situations. Comply with all safety protocols and identify safety gaps and risks, implementing effective mitigation strategies and providing recommendations to senior technical staff and management. Exhibit and promote integrity, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to safety and quality in all work activities. May assist with or conduct basic quality audits. Execute intermediate-level maintenance and installation tasks for wind turbines as assigned. This includes proficient use of tools (including specialized calibration, hydraulic, and power tools) and basic turbine equipment. Document tasks as necessary and input data into the company system, such as SAP. Collect and analyze information regarding turbine performance and issues. May diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions for routine issues, seeking assistance for more complex turbine problems to ensure effective resolution. Follow a structured problem-solving approach to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks, utilizing diagnostic tools (e.g., basic fluke meter functions, hydraulic pressure gauge). Initiate and perform most tasks with minimal supervision, adhering to defined instructions and maintenance schedules. Foster a collaborative team environment by assisting colleagues in achieving goals and mentoring junior technical staff. Actively support team spirit and collaboration, advocate for change initiatives, and identify improvement opportunities in job-related processes while communicating effectively to implement enhancements. Interact with customers and respond to inquiries, referring complex issues to senior technical staff or management as needed. Maintain a professional customer focus at all times.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Preferred qualifications include post-secondary education (e.g., wind school, trade school, college) or a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the wind industry, particularly in electrical roles, including the ability to interpret electrical schematics. Demonstrated proficiency with intermediate-level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools (e.g., fluke meter functions and hydraulic pressure gauge). Intermediate knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols (e.g., Confined Space, energy isolation) is essential. Ability to conduct detailed component inspections and report findings. Valid Driver's License and capability to obtain a Passport. Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels while respecting supervision and supporting initiatives. Basic computer skills, familiarity with internet-based program navigation, and the ability to generate and interpret computer data. Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics to validate work activities and ensure risks are identified and mitigated.

Ability to work in physically demanding and adverse weather conditions. Comfort with remote work and limited supervisory interaction.
