About the Role

Vestas is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wind Turbine Technician II to join our Resource Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for traveling to our sites across North America to perform intermediate-level wind turbine maintenance and installation tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel 100% of the time to perform maintenance and installation tasks at our wind turbine sites
  • Act as a safety role model and encourage others to practice safe work habits
  • Perform intermediate-level wind turbine maintenance and installation tasks, including operation and use of specialized tools and equipment
  • Document tasks and enter data into our company system, such as SAP
  • Diagnose and recommend solutions to routine issues, and seek assistance when necessary
  • Follow basic structured problem-solving processes to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks
  • Effectively promote a healthy team environment and mentor lower-level technical staff
  • Interface with customers and respond to inquiries, referring complex issues to higher-level technical staff or management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Post-high school education or a minimum of two years of wind industry experience, including electrical experience and ability to read electrical drawings
  • Proven use and understanding of intermediate-level power tools, such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools
  • Ability to demonstrate intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices and protocols
  • Valid driver's license and passport
  • Significant attention to detail and execution, good interpersonal and customer relation skills, and ability to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels
  • Basic computer operation skills, familiarity with internet-based program navigation, and ability to generate and interpret computer data
