The OSEG Foundation is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and dedicated student to assist with our forthcoming initiatives and events. This position is designed to support the Foundation's mission of utilizing the influence of sports to empower children and youth, helping them cultivate essential life skills, enhance their mental and physical health, and achieve their maximum potential.
The Event Support Intern will collaborate closely with the OSEG Foundation team to aid in the planning, organization, and execution of special events and sponsorship initiatives. This role encompasses a variety of administrative responsibilities, logistical management, and communication efforts, including social media coordination, to ensure the successful delivery of the Foundation's hallmark events.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Support: Assist in the planning and execution of special events and sponsorship initiatives, contributing to overall event strategies, timelines, registration management, and event delivery for the Foundation's key events.
- Collaborate with the OSEG Foundation team to ensure effective program delivery.
- Support the recruitment, management, and recognition of volunteers.
- Communicate essential event details to guests, sponsors, and donors.
- Conduct evaluations post-events to identify areas for enhancement.
- Help organize and prepare gift packages, set up event activations and decorations according to specifications, and prepare venues for successful events.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Communications & Social Media Coordination:
- Assist in creating engaging content that highlights impactful stories.
- Catalog photos, narratives, and testimonials to maintain a repository of content.
- Enhance and maintain content for the OSEG Foundation's web presence and social media platforms to boost visibility of key programs and events.
- Prepare and curate social media content for a yearly posting calendar.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of social media posts.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Event Management, Communication/Marketing, Public Relations, Recreation, or similar fields.
- Experience in supporting event management activities.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and positive attitude, with a willingness to work as part of a diverse team.
- Proactive approach with adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, exhibiting a high level of professionalism.
- Alignment with the values and mission of the OSEG Foundation.
- Exceptional time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
