Lead Network Security Engineer at Scotiabank

We are looking for an experienced Lead Network Security Engineer to take charge of our network security initiatives at Scotiabank. This role is pivotal in architecting, deploying, and overseeing robust network security measures to safeguard our systems against cyber threats and maintain the integrity of our data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish a comprehensive network security vision and strategy aligned with industry benchmarks
  • Drive network security projects from conception through to execution
  • Research and assess new network security technologies for implementation
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to embed security best practices
  • Evaluate security resilience and operational performance
  • Identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies
  • Perform security evaluations and compliance audits
  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements and industry trends
  • Offer technical leadership and mentorship to team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • At least 8 years of experience in network security engineering
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP or CCSP are preferred

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices
  • Experience in designing DDoS resilient infrastructures
  • Ability to document complex systems and processes effectively
  • Familiarity with information security standards

Skills:

  • Ability to recommend enhancements to operational processes
  • Capability to translate business needs into effective security solutions
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and prioritizing security actions
  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders
