Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Testing Lead to join our team in British Columbia. This role will be responsible for leading electrical testing projects, managing project teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee electrical testing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Electrical Analysis and Design: Conduct electrical analysis and design in both industrial and utility sectors, utilizing expertise in protective relaying, substation automation, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Protective Relaying Design and Integration: Design and integrate protective relaying systems for industrial and utility clients, utilizing expertise in SEL, GE, Siemens, and Schneider systems.
  • Industrial/Utility Substation Automation: Design and implement substation automation systems, including SEL RTAC, RTU, HMI, communications, and other related systems.
  • Electrical Studies: Conduct electrical studies, including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies.
  • Electrical Drawing Packages: Create, modify, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements.
  • Electrical Distribution System Design and Modifications: Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including MCCs, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays, and controls.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems.
  • Field Services: Support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities on customer sites.
  • Onsite Engineering Inspections and Data Collection: Conduct onsite engineering inspections and data collection for electrical systems.
Requirements
  • Accredited 2-year technical college diploma in Applied Science Technology, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, degree in Electrical Engineering, PSE designation, or Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.
  • Understanding of industrial/utility protection and relay systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584).
  • Experience with electrical engineering software such as EasyPower, SKM, and ETAP considered an asset.
  • Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their capabilities considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract required for fieldwork.
  • Fluent English language skills.
