Halton Crushed Stone Limited is a prominent supplier of aggregates in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). We specialize in providing crushed limestone, sand, gravel, and various specialty products to a diverse clientele, including asphalt manufacturers, landscapers, road construction contractors, general contractors, and the general public. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Production & Operations Supervisor to join our expanding team in the GTA.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), the Production & Operations Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across all our sites. This position emphasizes the importance of health and safety, operational efficiency, facility maintenance, and employee development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the GM to maintain safe, clean, and functional sites, equipment, and facilities, minimizing workplace hazards and downtime.
  • Oversee, train, and mentor team members while enforcing company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive daily Health & Safety initiatives to cultivate a strong safety culture within the teams.
  • Assist Forepersons with recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Manage and coordinate onsite subcontractors and vendors.
  • Engage with visitors, clients, drivers, regulatory agencies, and local residents to ensure compliance with all regulations and site plans.
  • Collaborate with the Equipment Shop Manager to oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and warranty work.
  • Plan and execute maintenance and repairs across all locations.
  • Coordinate manpower and equipment logistics to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Identify and allocate resources according to shipping requirements and production schedules.
  • Ensure timely submission of necessary reports and documentation.
  • Work in close partnership with Sales, Quality Control, Dispatch, Human Resources, and Health & Safety teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in an aggregate environment.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of aggregate and surface mining operations and regulations is essential.
  • Familiarity with asphalt, concrete, and construction products and practices is advantageous.
  • Certification in Surface Miner Common Core is required.
  • Proficient in operating various equipment utilized in aggregate operations.
  • A valid G license with a clean driving record is necessary.
  • Physical capability to lift, bend, and handle weights up to 50lbs.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage conflict and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, solve problems, and adapt as needed.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with a focus on project/task completion.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

Work Environment

The hours of operation are Monday to Friday, with flexibility based on business needs.
