About the Role

Telesat, a leading global satellite operator, is seeking a highly skilled Data Solutions Engineer to join our team. As a Data Solutions Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement data solutions and integration frameworks to ensure secure and seamless data storage, flow, and communication within Telesat.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Solution Design and Development: Design, develop, and deploy data and integration solutions following Telesat's architectural principles, policies, and guidelines.
  • Integration and Collaboration: Participate in the planning of integration projects, work and collaborate with stakeholders and project team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Data Governance and Security: Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies, implement audit, logging, and monitoring solutions of integration systems.
  • Research and Recommendations: Research and make recommendations on data and integration products and services to support business requirements.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Test and troubleshoot integration solutions, identify and resolve system issues to ensure seamless data flow.
Requirements
  • Enterprise Integration Experience: 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level application integration, including design, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Business and Technical Analysis: Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling, and methodology development, and data mapping.
  • Cloud Technologies: Experience with cloud technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, MS Fabric, and professional certification is desirable.
  • Database Design and Management: Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques, TSQL, PostgreSQL, and data warehouse solutions design and implementation.
  • Security and Compliance: In-depth experience with securing integrations, encryption, Azure Key Vault, and existing security clearance is an advantage.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheets, and strong knowledge of system and software SDLC cycle, DevOps, quality assurance best practices and methods.
