Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Highway Indian Bistro. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise a team of 3-4 food service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent service and quality food production.
  • Operations Management
    • Establish and implement efficient kitchen procedures to meet work schedules and ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintaining accurate inventory and minimizing waste.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Ensure that food and service meet our high quality control standards, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
    • Prepare and submit reports on kitchen operations, inventory, and sales.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Prepare and manage budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
    • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Language and Cultural Competence
    • Fluency in English.
    • Ability to provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers, refugees, youth, and Indigenous people.
