Role Overview:

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role within our fundraising team, facilitating community-led events that generate substantial financial support for The Hospital for Sick Children. This position is integral to our mission, serving as the primary liaison for community partners and ensuring smooth operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical assistance to the Community Engagement team.
  • Become proficient in our donor management system to maintain data accuracy and generate necessary reports.
  • Set up and manage online fundraising initiatives using various platforms.
  • Assist with data integration and offer technical support to team members and community partners.
  • Prepare and distribute event materials, acknowledgment letters, and thank-you communications on behalf of the Foundation.
  • Manage multiple communication channels, focusing on fostering relationships and providing support.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service as the first point of contact for inquiries from donors and community members.
  • Draft donor correspondence to nurture relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Handle general administrative tasks, including mass communications and document management.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Contribute to additional projects and office tasks as required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of education and experience that aligns with the following:

  • A post-secondary degree complemented by at least two years of experience in administrative or fundraising roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
  • A donor-centric approach with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with fundraising platforms and donor management systems is an asset.
