Health Care Aide

At Extendicare Canada Inc., we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing direct personal and nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Distribute meal trays and assist with meal distribution in the dining room.
- Provide ambulation, restorative care, and assistance to residents as required.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to the unit nurse.
- Respond to resident call bells and provide assistance in a timely manner.
- Keep resident areas clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Participate in resident-centered programs, such as bowel and bladder retraining.
- Perform charting duties accurately and clearly on the Health Care Record.
- Encourage and support residents in participating in facility activity programs.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
- Completion of a certified Health Care Aide program from a recognized college or approved nursing equivalent.
- Demonstrates concern and interest in providing quality care to residents.
